BMLabs and ChipFoundry Collaborate to Enable Easy, Affordable Prototyping of Innovative SoC Designs

F

BMLabs, a leader in next-generation semiconductor memory and processing technologies, today announced a strategic partnership with ChipFoundry, the cloud-based platform revolutionizing chip design and manufacturing. The collaboration aims to dramatically simplify and reduce the cost of prototyping custom System-on-Chip (SoC) devices incorporating BMLabs’ proprietary Neuromorphic IP.

By bringing together BMLabs’ cutting-edge neuromorphic memory and compute architectures with ChipFoundry’s end-to-end design platform, the companies are enabling startups, research institutions, and established semiconductor developers to more easily explore the potential of brain-inspired computing in diverse applications such as AI acceleration, edge analytics, robotics, and ultra-low-power IoT devices.

Accelerating Innovation through Accessible Prototyping

Traditional SoC development remains expensive and complex, requiring specialized expertise, expensive tools, and significant up-front investment. BMLabs and ChipFoundry are addressing these barriers by offering a streamlined pathway to develop, validate, and manufacture SoCs with embedded neuromorphic capabilities.

Through ChipFoundry’s online platform, designers can:

  • Access BMLabs’ Neuromorphic IP blocks in a fully supported design flow
  • Simulate and verify neuromorphic functions alongside conventional digital logic
  • Prototype physical chips through aggregated shuttle runs, reducing fabrication costs
  • Deploy proven reference designs to speed development cycles

“Neuromorphic computing holds tremendous promise for intelligent systems, but historically it has been out of reach for many smaller teams,” said Samarth Jain, CEO of BMLabs. “Our collaboration with ChipFoundry levels the playing field, making it practical for innovators of all sizes to bring neuromorphic SoCs to life.”

Flexible Engagement and Licensing Models

To encourage adoption, BMLabs is offering flexible licensing arrangements, including options for academic researchers, early-stage startups, and volume commercial deployments. Developers can experiment with Neuromorphic IP through ChipFoundry’s opensource and low-cost tiers before scaling up to full production.

We are proud to partner with BMLabs to unlock new capabilities in the semiconductor ecosystem. By combining ChipFoundry’s cloud-native design infrastructure with BMLabs’ advanced neuromorphic technology, we’re empowering a generation of designers to push the boundaries of what’s possible.

Creating an Ecosystem for Brain-Inspired Silicon

The partnership also supports a broader vision of democratized semiconductor innovation. In addition to making Neuromorphic IP readily available, BMLabs and ChipFoundry are:

  • Developing reference SoC designs and application notes to help teams accelerate development
  • Providing online training and documentation to lower the learning curve for neuromorphic architectures
  • Offering early-access programs and community support for pilot customers

By fostering an ecosystem where developers can experiment, iterate, and bring new ideas to market quickly, the companies are driving adoption of neuromorphic computing in domains that demand high efficiency and cognitive capability at the edge.
